 TOUR OUR FACILITY
All participants will have access to a wide variety of leisure and recreational resources.
Each apartment is fully accessible for participants who use a wheelchair or other mobility aids. Each one bedroom apartment has an en-suite bathroom with grab bars and the ability to accommodate a Hoyer lift. A wheel-in shower is also available in the building for those who require it. The kitchens feature stoves with front mounted controls and sinks which allow wheelchair access.
All participants will have access to a wide variety of leisure and recreational resources. The building facilities
includes a library, a pool table, a multi-purpose room for functions, group activity room, on-site laundry facilities on each floor, sitting lounge area,
outdoor garden, and is within walking distance of Garden City Shopping Centre and major retail outlets. Pharmacies and the Seven Oaks Hospital are
also minutes away from our facility.
The rent includes cable and utilities, but residents are responsible for the costs of their telephone and internet access if they choose these services. The building is owned by Manitoba Housing and administered by a nonprofit organization with a community board of directors. All apartments are subsidized with rental based on income.
Residents have access to on-site staff according to their requirements. Allocation of staffing hours is determined cooperatively by the TLC Case manager, the resident and funding/referral source. Assistance is provided when transitioning out of the program to longer term community housing which meets the needs of the individual.
Where appropriate, efforts may be made to find suitable roommates from within our program as part of the discharge planning process.
If a suitable match is found, the TLC Case Manager will assist in coordinating staff and financial arrangements.
